Increase Your Blog Traffic Without Going Broke
It doesn’t actually matter if your blog is a personal blog which you do just for fun, or if you are a serious internet marketer which uses their own blog to earn money, everybody wants to find out how you can increase your blog traffic. That is very much the common question.
The good thing is that just simply by using a blog structure for your web site you have already carried out a great deal to get more targeted visitors to your blog. The various search engines love fresh new written content and since blogs are updated much more often compared to a static site would be, the search engines see that like a content driven site and can rank it higher.
There are lots of other things that you can do, for free, to improve the quantity of traffic you get to your blog. And don’t forget, it’s not only about any traffic, it is more about getting high quality traffic, traffic that contains those who are actually serious about the main topic of your blog.
Here are some of the easiest and most successful free things that you can do to help keep the flow of high quality traffic to your blog going strong:
1. Post frequently. The more frequently you post, the more frequently your blog will get spidered by the search engines and you’ll be compensated with a increased page ranking plus more free traffic. One word of caution though, just like vitamins, do not fall into thinking that if one is good 15 has to be better. If you post a great number of times per day, the search engines will believe that your not building your site in a very ‘natural’ way and they’ll penalize you for it.
An effective guideline is to post one post everyday for a 3 week period, I’m not sure why, but that 21 appears to be the magic number. After the first 21 days it is possible to decrease to several posts per week if you would like, or you can continue with one a day, the choice is yours.
2. Another great way to increase your blog trafficincrease your blog traffic is write articles which will direct individuals to go to your blog. You may use the free Google keyword tool to focus on the kinds of keywords and key phrases people are using to locate your blog, then write good quality articles around that keyword, then you can submit your article free of charge to article directory sites such as EzineArticles.com.
3. Learn a little about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and begin utilizing those methods on your blog. This can make your site stick out to the search engines. Don’t be concerned about understanding everything there is to know about SEO, only a few basic concepts can produce a big difference.
4. Visit other blogs and leave a comment with a link back to your blog. This doesn’t just show people that you’re an expert in your field, but they may also be interested in looking at your blog and more about what you have to say, assuming obviously that you leave informative, interesting remarks.
These are the simplest methods that you will find to help you increase your blog traffic. And even though PPC advertising certainly works and is a viable option, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on expensive pay-per-click campaigns when it’s possible to have even better results simply by investing a little time.
